I am very much aware how everyone says never change your strategy, stick to it and work on it until you become profitable. In my case, my strategy is fundemenatally broken. Ive been trading for more than a year, and my strategy is based on techncials. I've noticed my strategy is really dependant on the overall condition of the market. Rarely do I ever make a profit when the market is in the red and vice versa. I want to move to a completely different strateg

Hey guys,
Believe it or not, I wrote this post yesterday at work, circa 3 hours before the news about the company and its shares skyrocketing. Even though now probably not a good buy due to the momentum and hype, I'll post the original post anyway:

If you buy into a vanguard mutual fund before closing time, you get the close price at the end of that day.
But how is your price effected if you buy on the ex dividend date?
For example if the close price is $100 but the dividend is $2 would you pay $98 a share or would you pay the full $100, not receive the dividend, and effectively be penalized the $2 when the shares dropped after the dividend?
Which others can we add to the list?
