For those with great portfolio returns, or are beating the market, how many of your stock picks went bust?

I have most of my money in index funds, but I do reserve a percentage of my portfolio for individual stocks.

I have had some winners like Nvidia and Upstart recently. But I’ve had some losers that have gone bankrupt and basically to 0 recently too like Proterra (PTRA) and Appharvest (APPH). I’m worried that some of my other speculative picks like Jumia (JMIA), Lucid (LCID), and Opendoor( OPEN) are going belly up and bankrupt soon.

Luckily all the speculative ones are a fraction of a percent of my portfolio, and I didn’t even bother selling leading up to bankruptcy because the shares were only worth a few dollars

Just curious, for those who have done well in the stock market, how many of your picks were dead money or went to 0? For the stocks that went bust what percentage was it in your portfolio?

I feel like I only need one or two plays to go up 10x - 100x to recover my losses but I’m not sure which ones are diamonds in the rough.
