The days of floppy disks and burned CDs may be long gone, but every once in a while you still need just a huge bucket of external storage. The frustrating thing is that the bigger the drives and files get, the longer the transfers take over USB. Samsung’s T7 Shield external drive takes care of that with tons of rugged storage at fast speeds, and today it’s 35 percent off at Amazon.
PCWorld reviewer Jon Jacobi loved the Samsung T7 Shield for its rugged, impact-absorbing body that’s also rated for IP65 resistance to water and dust, to say nothing of its 10 gigabit per second speed (when you plug it into a compatible USB 3.0 or newer port). The 1TB version is normally $169.99, but today Amazon is selling it for $109.99.
You can choose between blue, black, or beige colors at that price. Need even more storage? The 2TB drive — which should be as much or more storage as most new laptops sold today — is $179.99, an even deeper discount from the $284.99 retail price. You can find the same deals on Samsung’s online store, if you have a credit card or points that work better there.
