In October 2025, Microsoft is officially ending support for a wide range of products, most notably Windows 10, Office 2016, and Office 2019. The software giant is obviously keen on users switching over to Microsoft 365, but if you want to stick with your old Office suite, there is now an interesting alternative you can consider.
There’s an awesome tool called 0patch, which we previously covered as a way to safely keep using Windows 10 after end of support. For Windows 10 users, 0patch can provide up to five years of additional security updates long after the October 2025 end of support date.
Now, according to an announcement post from yesterday, 0patch can also provide continued security updates for up to three years for both Office 2016 and Office 2019 after support officially ends. In other words, you could potentially keep using both Office 2016 and Office 2019 until the end of 2028 with 0patch if you so wish.
Note that if you want to access these Windows 10, Office 2016, or Office 2019 security updates, you’ll need a 0patch Pro (€24.95/year) or 0patch Enterprise (€34.95/year) subscription.
