Go to CES if you want to see new TVs, and go to Mobile World Congress if you want to see new phones. But if you want to see the newest in the real geek stuff—like cooling for your gaming PC—then pony up for a plane ticket to Computex. PCWorld’s Adam Patrick Murray did, and the CPU coolers by Sudokoo got his attention.
Sudokoo looks like a whitebox supplier, which crucially is already selling at least some designs in the US. Take the SK700, for example: it combines some of the new screen-on-CPU designs with a conventional dual-tower air cooler design, a great combo if you prefer air cooling to liquid. And though some other brands have what looks like the same product, Sudokoo—a play on “Super User Do,” not the numbers logic puzzle game—is selling it in the US on Amazon right now.
At its Computex booth, the company was also showing off PC case fans with a slot mounting system that lets you put a little custom 3D-mounted flair on them, and all-in-one liquid coolers with a bit of RGB flair in addition to the full-screen headers. Sadly, the sleek PWM controller shown off isn’t a retail product, much to Adam’s chagrin.
