Yet, in an election cycle where national and swing-state polls were neck-and-neck for weeks, it was easy to believe that Vice President Kamala Harris was on track for a landslide victory—or at least, that’s what your TikTok feed might have suggested.
“For the astrology girlies, I have been studying Kamala’s charts and it looks like she is not only going to win but she is going to be winning a second term,” posted TikToker @astrolinaaa yesterday. “Y’all, I’m feeling so patriotic right now, Florida might turn blue,” another TikToker posted excitedly. Major election forecasters even echoed this sentiment, projecting a sweeping blue win as polls opened.

But that enthusiasm quickly waned as Trump rapidly surged ahead of Harris. “Maybe the blue shift was the friends we made along the way,” one user concluded in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
TikTok star, Dean Withers, who rose to prominence this election cycle by debating right-wing conservatives on his social media platforms, called the result around the same time.
