Show HN: A GitHub Action that quizzes you on a pull request

A little idea I got from playing with AI SWE Agents. Can AI help make sure we understand the code that our AIs write?

PR Quiz uses AI to generate a quiz from a pull request and blocks you from merging until the quiz is passed. You can configure various options like the LLM model to use, max number of attempts to pass the quiz or min diff size to generate a quiz for. I found that the reasoning models, while more expensive, generated better questions from my limited testing.

AI Has Flipped Software Development

For years, it’s been faster to create mockups and prototypes of software than to ship it to production. As a result, software design teams could stay “ahead” of engineering. AI is flattening language — and redistributing power

Of all the current debates around AI, one critique has stayed with me: that it’s “flattening the bar.” Tools like ChatGPT, the argument goes, make everyone’s writing sound the same — generic, overly polished, stripped of nuance. The concern is real, and I share it. https://webdesignernews.com/ai-is-flattening-language-and-redistributing-power/

Last week’s passage of the Online Safety Act, a law aimed at shielding children from inappropriate (read: adult) content, has brought about a version of the internet that feels more like being back in school. You now essentially need a hall pass, in the form of official ID or a live selfie, to go almost anywhere.
