The controversial play, The Dollâs House, was written by leading Norwegian playwright, Henrik Ibsen, in 1879. Although it appears at first, to be a portrait of the happy marriage between the lighted hearted and devoted wife Nora and her seemingly perfect and provident husband, Torvald, we soon become aware of deeper more serious social issues.
