The M42 Duster is a twin 40mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun used by the United States Army during the Vietnam War. The M42 Duster was designed to provide mobile anti-aircraft protection for ground troops and it was equipped with twin 40mm Bofors guns mounted on a modified M41 Walker Bulldog tank chassis. The "Iron Coffin" is the nickname given to the M42 Duster by the soldiers who operated it.The M42 Duster was first deployed to Vietnam in 1965 and it was used extensively throughout the conflict.
