Summary of Chris Fenning's The First Minute

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Book Preview: #1 The clock starts when you start talking about work. The first minute is the minute you spend on personal engagement. In Chapter 4, I wrote about the importance of having an introduction to your work topics. I encourage you to write your own introduction, based on your recent work accomplishments, which can be delivered in 30 seconds or less. Here are a few examples that I have used in my own presentations: I am a medical device sales rep, and my job is helping doctors sell the best medical devices to their patients. My background is in medicine and business, so I am uniquely qualified to help sales teams sell their products. I was a commercial pilot for a major airline for 15 years. During that time, I flew all over the world and logged 2 million flight hours. I am now a C-level executive at a private company and manage their commercial aircraft programs. My name is Jillian, and I am the founder of DoSomething. org. I grew up in the United States, but I traveled to several countries during my college years and learned how to lead small teams to make big changes in the world.
