This book is collection of articles on the rapid ongoing transformations within the Asian cities in the period when Asia is rising economically. It is about the processes of these transformations, State Policy in support of these transformations, exclusions and inclusions in therein and contestations and resistance by those getting adversely affected by the changes in urban space. While there are dramatic changes in the city structure and improvement in infrastructure in the Asian cities, there are also serve exclusions observed as in case of Indian cities or increase in inequities and unwinding of former inclusive processes as in case of Chinese cities.
