Bond outlook for the next few years

Hi Everyone,

I have been following the stock market for some time but know very little about bonds.

I am interested in buying some bonds to offset some volatility with a leveraged portfolio (2x all weather portfolio here): https://www.optimizedportfolio.com/all-weather-portfolio/

I am just wondering what the outlook would be for 20 year and 7-10 year treasuries in the next few years. The dalio all weather portfolio is bond heavy and I know that Dalio himself has been saying not to touch bonds for the last year or so... is that still the case?

Here are some of my uneducated questions:

  • If bonds were tanking during rate increases, would it stand to reason that they will go up during rate cuts or pauses?
  • Is there more room for bonds to go down if the fed hikes one more time and holds all year?
  • What do you think the outlook is for bonds over the next few years? Good time to buy?

Not looking for financial advise just looking to read some people's thoughts on the matter.

Thanks in advance :)
