Bought meta stock in the 90s last year and because of that I'm sitting at over 50% ytd gains this year. I've already locked in my meta gains when I sold in march, and I just have google and paypal long bets with some nvda short bets now in my trading account. Wondering if I should be happy with my gains and just liquidate my remaining holdings and chill for the rest of the year.
Things that worry me:
1) the stock market by and large (specially tech stocks) has rebounded significantly so far this year, those gains can be wiped out in the coming months
2) looming debt ceiling and some whispers it might be more complicated this time
3) inflation might stay higher for longer and fed might keep rates higher for longer, which again will be a negative pressure point for stocks
4) big earnings coming up
5) I took a $30k capital loss last year, and $27k of it rolled over as I used the $3k to offset my income. If I keep my gains I can deduct the losses earlier than have to keep deducting $3k every year
Looking for some outside opinion
