For those of us who invest in startups: what areas of opportunity are you focused on?
I’ll start (has anyone come across companies working on the following problem set?):
An area I think has become much more important as the cost of developing apps comes down dramatically is cybersecurity.
Someone like me who has a decent grip on tech stacks but doesn’t code can now design an app and build it cheaply with the help of an AI-enabled developer. In the future hopefully I’ll be able to do this entirely myself.
There has to be a company that makes cybersecurity plug and play for the explosion of creativity that’s coming. While app design is relatively intuitive if you are a target user yourself, cybersecurity is still a black box and mission critical for many apps to get right
For example, I would love to build a personal finance assistant that acts as a wealth advisor and accountability buddy: understanding my goals, setting a strategy, and even embedding into my purchasing flows to help me stick to my goals
The above app could help expand personal finance literacy around the world. It would also be a massive data honeypot
AI agents tasked to scam people is a whole other use case where personal cybersecurity solutions will clearly be needed, but that’s another post
