I understand "investing" without a financial thesis is basically gambling or donating.
With that said, are there any companies that excite you to the point that you'd commit some funding solely as a means of supporting their missions?
It might just be a small $ amount, but I like the idea of having some skin in the game, just to keep them on my radar.
An example for me:
Ginkgo Bioworks - The applications of synthetic biology interest me to no end, and I'd love to ride along on this rollercoaster.
Origin Materials - Converting the carbon in biomass into other materials just makes sense to me from an environmental perspective. Not sure how profitable this is, but I want them to succeed!
