Hello, a little over ten years ago, my uncle bought Apple stock in my name. He did this for all of the cousins, but for varying companies sort of “tailored” to each of our interests. Anyway, at the time, I didn’t understand it so didn’t place a lot of value in it.
Fast forward ten years. Every month I get a very small dividend check (less than $0.60). To be honest, I haven’t done anything with them.
I’m looking at my latest statement and I want to get more involved in stocks in general, now that I have a fairly stable career and some “extra” money.
Anyway - what do I do with this? I assume I open like an E*trade account, but then how do I “enter” the shares I have? Based on the paper I think I have 4 shares, but I honestly don’t know how to read the statement.
If the stock was purchased over ten years ago, compared to the price today - I’m assuming they are worth a nice chunk of change? How would I know that?
Any help, advice, or guidance in the right direction would be very much appreciated!!
