about to take a big leap and invest much of my wealth - how would you do it?

Hi all,

About to take a big leap. Need your thoughts – is this how you would do it? What would you recommend instead? Any pitfalls to my approach?

About to retire early. Sitting on a sizeable amount of cash - about half of my lifetime earnings. Liquidated company stock, exercised options, exited other investments.

Pension and annuities will provide more than enough to live comfortably. I want to invest the cash for long-term not particular high-risk growth. I don’t need to access it or have particular plans for these funds at the moment. Maybe in the future it will partially fund a retirement home.

Some details – I have a Fidelity Investments brokerage account in the US (not a US citizen, no ties to the US). I reside in a tax-exempt country. Considering to move to Indonesia where international earnings are taxed, but would choose Malaysia from a tax-perspective if needed (no tax on international earnings).

What I am thinking… invest all the cash into ETFs (VOO & QQQ) through Fidelity. My other investments consist of structured notes with another institution. The structured notes comprise about 1/3 of my total portfolio.

Is this a sound approach? What would you do instead? I have no capability, knowledge or desire to pick individual stocks. My ability to time and get in/out of investments sucks. Looking for long-term growth and can withstand some volatility.

Appreciate your thoughts on this. And thank you for many of the other posts on this subject. They were helpful to bring me to this point. Standing by to answer any questions you might have. Thank you.
