Can anyone point me in the direction of some literature that will teach me how to set up an effective scan setting for daily intraday movers? I use think or swim, but if anyone else uses something else, im open to suggestions. The think or swim scanner has a ton of settings. Really just looking for how to isolate the stocks whose prices are trading above moving averages and make break outs.
lets say i see a volume of 536 calls traded on the 9:40 one minute candle as shown below (Volume: 536). my question is: are the 536 calls account only for the volume of these calls traded on ThinkorSwim (TDAmeritrade) accounts only? or is the 536 volume the total contracts traded for those calls across the entire market of exchanges?
Hi everyone,
I have a question, my girlfriend lost about 100k in stocks and she has it for her capital losses to carry forward. Would I be able to add her to my property and then sell the property using her capital losses if my house has a capital gain of 100k?
Wall Street is taking a no-worries attitude about the ticking time bomb in Washington that threatens to blow up the world economy. That might be a problem.
Debt ceiling-inspired selloffs have been almost nonexistent. The Nasdaq is still up
I dca down on goog and just sold today for a gain. However, since some of my shares were purchased above the sale price, if the price comes in and I buy again, my understanding is it will still trigger a wash sale even though I sold for an overall gain.
If I buy googl instead, would my brokrage (schwab) trigger it as a wash sale? I know the rule says substantially identical (which it probably is), but if the IRS wants to come after me for a small wash sal

a seller so this would be an investment for 10+ years.
Thanks in advance
There's growth stocks that have been pummeled down close to pennystock territory despite nothing changing in terms of fundamentals, on the contrary. Name some?
Zero interest in promoting but to reciprocate; I suggest looking into PCT -- they announced their first facility is built and will be ready to produce/start making money this year. The rules require me to disclose I own some shares of this company.

As titled, I live in bay area, I have ~250k in cash since I started cashing out starting Jan this year. My goal has been to purchase a SFH (now probably a townhouse with the current rate), but I’ve got outbid a couple of times around 50-100k. I’m seeing the bidding wars starting to come back and I don’t think there will be any default in this economy just like how it was for many years. So, what do you advise me to do? Put some money back in the market? Or keep
I keep seeing this concept thrown around here.
It is my understanding that shorting means you borrow a stock and sell now, with the prediction that it will drop, and when it drops you buy and return the shares, therefore making a profit. Maybe that prediction is right, maybe its wrong.
What part of that has anything to do with making a stock drop or go to zero?
