Do you need absolutely every single thing on your desktop to harken back to a time before S-Video blew our minds with 525 lines of resolution? Then you need 8BitDo’s Retro Keyboard.
Today, you can pick up a new version of the Nintendo-style keyboard for $60 on Woot, $40 off its original price.
8BitDo’s Retro Keyboard was already shockingly good for its price, despite the novelty factor. It has both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless, high-quality clicky box switches from Kailh, and hot-swap sockets if those aren’t to your taste.
In addition to the chunky plastic housing and PBT keycaps inspired by the colors of the American NES console, you get a little add-on pad with two programmable buttons, also rocking Kailh switches. You can even get some extras for up to eight extra buttons.
The retro style is divisive, of course, and I wish it came with some adjustable keyboard feet. But for $100, it was already a great deal for a wireless keyboard with high-quality components and hot-swap. At $60, it’s better than pretty much any budget keyboard from a major brand. You can read my full review of this keyboard here.
Woot (an Amazon subsidiary, free shipping if you have Prime) is offering this deal for another 11 days — or until stock runs out. If you miss this deal, you can probably catch this keyboard on sale for $80 at some point.
