No, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is not suing his own company. According to TechCrunch, we’re talking about an American lawyer who shares the same name—and he’s had enough.
Mark Stephen Zuckerberg, who is an attorney by occupation, has been promoting his law firm on Facebook, but Meta has shut down his account five times in the past eight years because they believe he’s impersonating the company’s CEO Mark Elliot Zuckerberg.
The camel’s back has finally broken and the lawyer has now chosen to sue the social media giant. The straw that broke the camel’s back? Facebook continuing to charge him to promote the law firm’s account, even after the company had shut it down.
On his website (iammarkzuckerberg.com), Mr. Zuckerberg describes what it’s like to share a name with the founder of Facebook. Among other things, he can’t use his name for restaurant reservations (because he’s immediately assumed to be a prankster) and he constantly receives letters suggesting improvements for Facebook.
