Recently, Microsoft sent out new preview versions of Windows 11 and Windows Server 2025 to members of the Windows Insider Program.
A small but nice addition in the update is a new setting to change the position of the volume indicator, meaning the box that appears on the screen when you adjust the volume.
Currently, it appears along the bottom edge of the screen. With the new setting, you’ll be able to move it to the top edge or the top-left corner instead. Changing the setting will also put the indicator for brightness in the same place, Windows Latest reports.
If all goes according to plan, Microsoft should be rolling out the new volume indicator position setting to the public later this summer.
