Beating Expectations vs Stock y

Hey all, I have started looking into the stock market recently, so kindly excuse if my question is silly or dumb.

I have seen multiple companies who show up as they "beat analyst expectations" but still they end up 8% or 9% down the next day.

Ideally, if the company has beat analyst expectations, it means they performed better than what was expected which would show how good a company is doing. But clearly I am missing out on understandin

Options Tax Filing

Hi! When filing your taxes, do you have to fill out a separate form for each of your individual trades, or do you just have to fill out one form for your account as a whole? I’m on Firstrade in the United States.

ARKK holdings

"Alexa, how much NVDA stock does ARKK have in its portfolio?"

Alexa: "0.0 percent."

Talk about total Cathie L. Imagine building an ETF around the theme of "innovation," and omitting the number one company at the forefront of the AI revolution.

But hey, at least it has Zoom!

NVDA may surpass AMZN within weeks

Wild times guys. To summarize, NVDA reported super bullish guidance for coming quarters, average yearly estimate was $30B in revenue, which may now be somewhere between $40B-$50B. We will be seeing lot of upgrades from analysts in coming days. I am still puzzled as to how this was already not priced on with almost 100% run in last 6 months alone. Now stock is up another 26%.

Amazon will be doing ~$550B in revenue in 2023 alone with low teen growth next ye

Is there a limit to what % of daily volume market makers will buy/sell when hedging positions?

Let's say that a Market Maker has a large options position they need to hedge, but the amount of shares of stock they need to buy/sell is several time the daily volume of the stock.

Is there a rule of thumb for what the max % of daily volume a MM will buy/sell is? Inversely, is there a rule of thumb for how many days it would for a position that's X times the daily volume?

Company merger/buy out

What happens to the share price of the company that’s being bought out by a larger company? Say company A share price is $15 and they buyout company B which has a share price of $2.

I’m referring to Stratasys in talks of buying out Desktop Metal.

Stocks and Transfer Agents

If I DRS a company's stock (in this instance, Chewy), but there is no transfer agent associated with said company, does anyone know what happens to my shares?

I had DRS'd a couple of companies all together in one transaction on Fidelity, and I thought I'd throw in Chewy into the mix as well. I didn't realize that a company doesn't have to have a transfer agent, nor did Fidelity tell me that there was nowhere to transfer the shares to.

Newish to stocks. With Nvidia's increase today, is it smart to sell?

I don't want to miss my oppurtunity, as I did yesterday with CohBar (which went from +40% to -20% for me). I've had the Nvidia stock for a few weeks, but now is the first time its at +30% (total percentage of change). After yesterday, I told myself that I'd sell anything that hits +30% again, but I didn't expect that to happen again today...
