Hello everyone,
I’ve been using wealthsimple ever since I started trading. The fees and conversion rates are absolutely horrendous, I heard through another post that IBKR is a good brokerage but also had friends tell me to go to quest trade.
I’m turning 19 soon for some background info, IBKR said I’m not qualified to open an account and trade ETFs, only stocks.
Any help and advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Found it because I was looking for long-term fusion stock plays. It's shot up like crazy this week, and every time I expect a fall it sets a new floor. Is everyone accidentally pumping this stock because a ton of people wanted to yeet a cheap fusion long-term play into their portfolio? Is this a new floor for the stock? Should I expect a sell-off? (Note: wall streets bets is not pumping and dumping as far as I can tell)
First, sorry for any grammar mistake, no native English.
ASO stock down almost 9% today
I open a small position of my portfolio in ASO few weeks ago (2%) around 6k, I am down 20%, I did my analysis and it seems strong and actually with a lot of potential, they have plenty of room in USA to grow and its revenue is according with its PE, profit margins seems ok, etc....
The only thing that I missed was visiting its stores and seeing if they
I just started dollar cost averaging into JEPI in my roth IRA as a lower risk way to stay invested without worry a ton about market volatility. I went on r/jepi to see what that was about and oh my god are there some insane posts in there. It’s making me rethink even wanting to invest in jepi at all. Some guy suggested taking out a 7% heloc and investing in jepi to take advantage of “dividend arbitrage”. Another said he’s been buying OTM sh
If Im not mistaken, the problem with high dividend stocks usually is that they are usually not growth stocks.
With regional banks being beaten down, it seems like KRE is the best ETF that money can buy right now. You have the potential for high growth after a rebound, and you get the 3.5% annual yield, balancing both sides.
I dont really see any other stock like this at the moment.
Although, I think the dividend might not matter much if w
The probability of a pause in rate hikes increased dramatically from 62% to higher than 86% in futures after an interview with Jerome Powell in which he stated that rates may not have to rise as much as expected.
For those who inveat in stocks for long term growth, do you realize your gains by selling? Or do you just let it remain untealized for as long as you think the company will stay strong?
Is there a certain point where you say I will take my gains, and then sit for the crash? Like how after the pandemic everything pulled back a bit?
Do you look at abnormal growth and say "maybe the growth is growing too much in this market and due for a pullba
I have a portfolio of 20 quality stocks and $MA is about 8% and $V about 5% of the total value. I would ultimately like to get this down to 15 stocks as I feel 20 is just too hard to consistently keep track of.
Given that $MA and $V pretty much mirror one another I was thinking of consolidating into one.
Who here holds both $MA and $V? Who holds just one? And what is your reason for it?
Thanks!

My finance class is holding a virtual stock exchange game where we have access to a fake million dollars to invest into whichever stocks. Is there a strategy to make lots of short term money for these kinds of games and does anyone have recommendations as to what I should invest in?
