First Republic Bank - the gambler in me

I sold 2 CSP last week $1, 1/2024 for .65 each. I am just going to hold them if they get assigned and see what happens. Anyone thinks it will go to a dollar. Anyone slowly buying in OTC? What are your thoughts on its future?

What to do with current OILU positions if I feel WTI Oil has a soon leg up over the next 6 weeks?

OILU is a leveraged product for making (or loosing) money. I know these products are best owned for about 1 day because of price decay. However my question is should I expect to make some gains on this recent OILU investment? Oil is already rising back today by one point up after the 5 days of oil falling.

It is common knowledge that oil prices every year go down a little in April and do not see much increase until November. I am not going to hold that l

$SGEN spread at 15% now looking like steal of a Merger play

$SGEN was acquired by $PFE earlier this year for $229/share and set to close ~Q4 '23/Q1 '24. Currently trading at $198 for potential 15% gain. The merger is all cash and concerns about anti-trust regulation seem to have been quelled by recent divestments. There is a huge multibillion dollar penalty if it were to not go through, so it seems good motivation to get it done. Shareholders still have to approve, but seeing as it was bought at quite a premium,

Thoughts on Halliburton (HAL)?

Just wanted to get some opinions on Halliburton. Aside from the ethical concerns, I was eyeing the stock as it sits at $28. They beat earnings and typically, the stock sits above $30. I haven’t done much of a deep dive at all but at first glance a P/E of 13 and a 2% dividend, especially given its price right now looks attractive.

Question on selling option

Hey sorry for the silly question but I'm not sure where else to ask. I use wealth simple for trading, I am very new to stocks and just sold off my first stock.

I am not sure how this works, buying is super easy but when I sell my stocks I press sell them it says the market is every changing so I may not get the price it's currently at bla bla bla. Now I have put it up for sale and I just wait for someone to buy it? When will I know if someone buys

How is it possible we can exercise put contracts before expiration?

Super noob question. If someone sells puts for a stock, they sell the option to buy 100 shares at the strike price. How can the put buyer sell as soon the current price dips below the strike price before the expiration date?

This seems like it poses little benefit to the put seller.

If I sell puts for Apple at strike price of $160 for expiration date of June 1, yes the price might dip below $160 during now and then but it could climb back over th

Should it not be expected that reports are very good for most businesses?

I mean I’ve seen many business share their reports over the past few months and yeah some are below and some are barely above. But shouldn’t it be expected that many of these businesses are having the good gains reports due to the high amount of inflation we have?

I own JNJ … do I now own KVUE too?

JNJ spun off KVUE today, … but I don’t see that I now own KVUE in my broker online Holdings section, and JNJ was “flat-ish”!today not really showing it spun half of itself off into a different company. My Google skills have failed me and I can’t find out the details for what it means to my JNJ holdings. Anyone?

S&P 500, M2 Money Supply, and Wage correlation - Charts & Indicators?

I'm interested in researching the correlation between the S&P 500, M2 Money Supply, and average wage correlation (American or globally potentially). I think there'd be some facinating data to pull from the average american salary denominated by the price of the S&P 500 (and it could even further be more useful to denominate it by the price of the S&P 500 when adjusted with the M2 money supply).

This could give another perspective on i

Meme stocks that actually have potential

So during COVID we all saw those IPO stocks that memed out and fizzled. NKLA, SPCE, HYLN, etc. I’m about to start a new job that will be paying very well and want to build a growth portfolio. I’m over the meme stuff- lost my ass on many and want to just do long term DCA and maybe sell covered calls every now and then.

So I’m wondering which of these new stocks are actually legit. I remember looking at PLTR and thinking it had a future. Perhaps SOFI for f
