BofA joins other banks' profit trends with the rise of interest rates.

"Net income rose 15% to $8.2 billion, or $0.94 per diluted share, compared to $7.1 billion, or $0.80 per diluted share for Q1-22"

The estimate for Q1 23 was $0.81 per diluted share.

"Revenue of $10.7 billion improved 21%, due to increased NII driven by higher interest rates and loan balances, partially offset by the impact of reduced customer non-sufficient funds and overdraft fees"

Anyone else bullish Netflix before Earnings?

I see Netflix killing their earnings tomorrow. I mean, am I missing something?

I feel like if they’re ever going to have good earnings, this is the quarter. Password crackdown, bump in new subscribers, ad revenue, good shows such as Love is Blind, Quite on the Western Front.

I think $332 for Netflix is a really good value. Would not be surprised if this is $360 in less than 24 hours. And $400 within the next 6-9 months.

Ryan Cohen wanted to buy 20 % of Nordstrom last month

Nordstrom issued a 14A today (April 17th) and on page 79 it says:

“In addition, on March 6, 2023, RC Ventures LLC (“RC Ventures”), an investment vehicle of Ryan Cohen, disclosed to the Company that it owned 4.2% of the Company’s common stock and formally requested a waiver from the Rights Plan that would permit RC Ventures to acquire up to 19.9% of the Company’s Common Stock (above the 10% trigger of the Rights Plan). Rite Aid (RAD) - $2.50 stock potentially worth $14/share

Rite Aid as i'm sure many of you know, is a pharmacy/convenience store with over 2,000 stores across the US. They are currently a $2.5 stock valued at $143M. The current ongoing issues with this company is the long-term debt set to mature in July 2025 (2 years from now) as well as some legal issues with selling opiods. Could it be that the fed cannot see the size of the “gig economy” and throwing the baby with the bath water when hiking rates?

The fed keeps saying there is a strong labor force and it’s hiking interests rates to deal with inflation so more people get fired and increase unemployment, that kills demand and controlling inflation.

Here is an older article showing that before the pandemic some saw this issue of the fed not having a good working knowledge of how to calculate freelance jobs.

But now after the pandemic when so many people found ways to make money with different

Looking to dive into AMLP! :)

Hey guys, so I am looking to invest heavy in something and was looking at stocks like ET, MPLX, Plains All American, etc but of course want to dismiss the whole K-1 form headache. Therefore I found AMLP which is a fund that won't distribute a K-1 form.

My reasoning on going all chips in, is that this sector has room for growth considering they hit all time lows from the pandemic, their dividends are extremely attractive, and I would be holding long t

WSJ Offer on Reddit

Been seeing alot of the WSJ $2/month offer on Reddit. Lots of ads.

In short, is WSJ worth it? If I found bloomberg for the same price, would have signed up in half a second as it's news is the best, up to date, and quick.

Anyone sign up to the offer and can advise if worth it? I mostly want to know if the news is updated or it more like a newspaper, with day old news.
