Taking profits from investments

So I have few stocks that have gone up significantly since I invested in them in 2022. Anyway where between 30- 60% (in $ amount its maybe 17k in profit across these stocks)

Now I am trying to figure what the right strategy is to take the profits out. I dont need the cash and I am in CA so taxes. 😒

But what I am concerned about is what is the strategy here? Do you “take” the profits out when its a certain % or just leave it and forget it. I did tha

Why EPS is quite the same for the peer stocks despite of different number of shares and share prices?

Please help me to figure out EPS issue. Googling didn’t help me, all hope for you.

Company A earned $10 bln, it has 1 bln shares. Its market cap is $100 bln, share price is $100.

Company B earned $10 bln, but it has 10 bln shares. Its market cap is also $100 bln, share price is $10.

These two companies are quite the same but EPS of company A is 10. EPS for company B is $1.

Is there an ai app/site that helps determine the best stocks to go for that can likely give more positive results in investing?

Really am curious if such a thing exists so I can learn the best stocks to invest in. I have noticed using stocks so far that the buy low/sell high isn’t always a guarantee so I could see something like this being super helpful if such a thing exists.

What makes stocks like SQQQ go up? Is it a combination of demand but also the ETF formulas holding the stock together?

In traditional stocks, supply and demand dictates when a stock goes up or down. But for stocks like SQQQ that are directly correlated to QQQ performance, what dictates the price? Is it a combination of demand SQQQ but also the ETF formulas that dictate how it will behave vs. QQQ? Or does SQQQ demand have almost no role and rather it's a function of how many people are selling QQQ?

$ADD $VOLD $TICK oh my

Looking to see who uses these market tools throughout the day/week. Are they always on your screen, never heard of them, most of you don’t even bother with them, I know the $TICK is talked about often but what about the other two (or others like them that you like)? I’ve been learning them on and off, the $TICK is starting to make sense. I’m curious whether I should leave them alone or make them make sense.

Question on Price Action?

Hi Guys,

I am confused on recent market action, particularly on SPY or QQQ etc.

Take a look here: https://imgur.com/a/Dm9bz8C

It would be my understanding that normal market participants would likely have limit orders, not market. Or say vanguard that needs to accumulate another x millions in AAPL, my (ignorant) assumption is that they would set a limit order and accumulate over time - not slam in

What if USD loses it global reserve status?

2 questions I'm curious for opinions!

  1. What are the chances USD loses global reserve status within the next 10, 20, 30 years

  2. If USD did lose its status, would the returns of indices like the S&P 500 and US Total Market be similar compared to the past or would they suffer?

Main reason I'm asking is because I've been investing for a while and 2 of my main holdings are VOO and VTI. It would suck to ha

Stocks to get kids interested in investing

Hello all!

My Jr. High aged cousins recently expressed an interest in investing in stocks and I want to help them get set up.

I'll work on educating them about index funds and ETFs, but what are some good stocks that a kid could invest in and remain interested? My immediate thought is Disney.

Thank you for the help!

Who drew the line on the price of rice at the Dojima Rice Exchange and according to what?

Dojima Rice Exchange: The world's first rice futures exchange, established in Japan during the Edo period (17th century). This exchange also served as a market where futures contracts for rice, a type of commodity, were traded.

A fun fact: candlestick patterns were also developed on this exchange in the 18th century by the Japanese technical analyst Honma Munehisa. Yes, those candlestick patterns we call doji, hammer, shooting star were also used back
