Earlier this week, Powell also sought to assure the public that the banking system is safe. “You’ve seen that we have the tools to protect depositors when there’s a threat of serious harm to the economy or to the financial system, and we’re prepared to use those tools,” Powell said Wednesday during a news conference that followed the Fed’s decision to hike benchmark interest rates a

Why focus on suppressing demand and not increasing supply?

I’m not an economist and maybe it’s very naive question but basics say supply and demand determine the price of something. Policy makers are mostly concerned about quenching demand to reduce inflation but why are there no efforts to increase the supply? Would not it be actually beneficial for the economy overall?

Commercial real estate is the next shoe to drop for regional banks and the stock market

Commercial real estate is probably the next pain point for regional banks and the stock market, according to BofA.

The bank noted that US regional banks account for 68% of all commercial real estate loans.

A combination of low occupancy and a wave of refinancing at higher interest rates could spell trouble for banks, stocks, and the broader economy.

If AI is the next big industry, where to put 5-10 thousand dollars right now to get the most bang for my buck over the coming several years?

This current technology chat gpt, Bard and all the things related, while it's figuring itself out may end up being as big a deal to society as a portable laptop, or public access to the internet. Where would you put 5 to $10,000 to try and get your biggest profit and growth out of this, potentially setting yourself up for life?
