Informational help?

I just started dabbling in the stock market so I figured I’d come here and ask for help on stuff I didn’t really understand. I bought 20 shares of under armor a few weeks ago at 8.69 a share and it’s plummeted down since then to $7 as of right now, the share value hasn’t been this low in a long while. Is this normal to drop this much? Meaning does it have a good chance of going back up or will it continue to drop? Since it’s lower right now should I buy more sha

elf Beauty? Performing better than Nvidia?

52-wk high: 104.31

52-wk low: 24.62

That's over a 300% gain since May 2022. It is performing over 300% better than the consumer stables sector. So what am I missing? Is this massively overvalued or a company that is just more innovative than the rest? elf is in a competitive space so they do have a lot of competition.

What is there competitive advantage or is this just a massively trending stock with a lot of positive sentiment? Clearly

Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO’s)

Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs)

Hey all, I was lookin in to CLO’s mainly for the purpose of potentially investing in some CLO closed end funds like $ECC and $OXLC. However Im not versed in them and would love to hear about the current performance of the CLO market, and how the debt default talks have been affecting it from someone with more knowledge than I possess.

Artificial meat dairy alternative stocks to invest in now?

Artificial meat is underwhelming now but I believe it is the future and would like to invest. Also I only invest in individual stocks with money I am willing to lose and have a good savings rate and low risk retirement investments. I don’t really care to make millions, I just want to gamble on something I think will out perform the market in 1-20 years.

As far as dairy alternatives, Danone is the only company that sticks out since it’s established and ex

Thoughts on Schw stock

Anyone else still holding Schw after the little crash. I have averaged down to $56 a share but to be honest i'm not sure if I should sell after I break even, they are still growing at a fast rate and insiders did buy up a couple million dollars worth of stock which is a good sign. But I feel like something as simple at sp500 will be far more stable and will out perform them what are your guys thoughts. Thank you for reading.

How do you “properly” utilize high yield stocks?

Enbridge has a ridiculous 7.14% yield right now, with a relatively (as if that means much at this point) stable price.

I know some stocks pay out earnings in dividends while maintaining a constant stock price, but how do you ensure you actually receive that 7.14% when the price of the stock fluctuates more than 7%?

Yield is payed out quarterly, so are you receiving 7.14% of your holdings value divided by 4 each quarter?

Research on Emotions and Investing Behaviour

Hey everyone, I am a master’s student at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University. Currently, I am working on my master’s research paper for which I have to collect data. My research is focused on emotions and how they influence an individual’s investing behaviour. For my research, I need respondents who invest, which is why I am posting on r/stocks (with mod approval). I would like to ask for your help. If you could s

What to do with savings account funds

I have a 401k that I contribute to but I also have a savings account with 62k in it. I feel like I shouldn't let that just sit in savings but I sometimes wonder what if i need it? Could be used towards house renovations, vacation or kid activities. I know I need to keep some money in savings but 62k seems like too much to just have sitting there. I just dont get the point of moving it to a roth? I could see investing it in a certain stock...but that's ab

The relationship between QQQ and its 200 day moving average over time

Im looking at QQQ over the last 5 years and compared the price to its 200 day moving average in different stages of bull/bear markets

At each peak (Oct 2018, Feb 2020, Nov 2021) it was 40 to 60% higher than its 200 MA.

At each bottom (Dec 2018, Mar 2020, Oct 2022) it was only -1 to 8% higher than its 200 MA.

Am I wrong in trying to use this as one of many indicators to measure how overbought/oversold QQQ is?
