MOS under appreciated and undervalued compared to competitors

(Full disclosure before I get started I do own about a dozen shares of MOS)

So as the title above states, my thesis is that Mosaic (MOS) is undervalued compared to its peers and I wanted to get some opinions on this. Recently JP Morgan upgraded Scott’s Miracle Grow (which is a direct competitor to Mosaic) to overweight because of lower commodity costs that are inputs to their fertilizer production. However these lower commodity costs don’t exclusively eff

Question about wash sale rule

If I sell a stock at 10k loss, and break the wash sale rule, and end up neutral at the end of the year on gain/loss, do I owe taxes on the 10k I made back?

I accidentally broke the wash sale rule, and Im really just hoping to break even by end of year. My first year in the stock market has been a bunch of lessons, if I can break even by EOY Ill consider it a win.

Now this wash sale rule has me worried.

Question on Free Riding

If I have no cash available and I sell a stock on Monday for $1000 and then use that $1000 to buy a new stock, I am warned against free ruding, as I am using unsettled funds to buy the new stock. I must hold the new stock until it settles, else I will be blocked for 90 days.

With T+2 settlement, can I sell the new stock on Wednesday? I have been waiting an extra day when this happens, selling on Thursday.

My brokerage offered no clear instructions

Other than how you feel about a company, what ratios, metrics and historical trends do you analyze before purchasing a stock?

I'm analyzing and comparing Restoration Hardware (RH) and Williams-Sonoma (WSM). I'm trying to figure out what are some good indicators within company finances to determine if one is better than the other.

Whether it be Assets vs. Debt, operating cash flow amounts, stockholder equity amounts etc.

Trying to pinpoint specific things to highlight to help assess which company is better to invest than the other. I'm working on a report for
