I've been holding 1,000 shares of a stock for a long time now at $3.30 a share and bought 150 recently at $5.60. if the stock goes to $10 and I sell the 150 Shares in the (LIFO) option would I keep my $3.30 average price for remaining 1,000 shares?
(Full disclosure before I get started I do own about a dozen shares of MOS)
So as the title above states, my thesis is that Mosaic (MOS) is undervalued compared to its peers and I wanted to get some opinions on this. Recently JP Morgan upgraded Scott’s Miracle Grow (which is a direct competitor to Mosaic) to overweight because of lower commodity costs that are inputs to their fertilizer production. So I used stock screener tool to find stocks with 0 debt, high dividend and 3 year total return, with monthly dividend frequency. I found 6 stocks (CRT, MTR, PRT, PVL,SBR,SJT) in your opinion would these be good stocks to invest in? Am I missing anything? (New to long term investing)
If I sell a stock at 10k loss, and break the wash sale rule, and end up neutral at the end of the year on gain/loss, do I owe taxes on the 10k I made back?
I accidentally broke the wash sale rule, and Im really just hoping to break even by end of year. My first year in the stock market has been a bunch of lessons, if I can break even by EOY Ill consider it a win.
Now this wash sale rule has me worried.
In couple of months, I’ll be able to invest over 50% of my income into stocks for atleast 3 years. Can you recommend me stocks I should look at. I currently have SCHD, SWLSX, SWPPX,SWTSX,& LGILX. I’m looking for safe stocks that’ll generate good returns and possibly dividends. I do not have a lot of experience in investing long term. I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you!

If I have no cash available and I sell a stock on Monday for $1000 and then use that $1000 to buy a new stock, I am warned against free ruding, as I am using unsettled funds to buy the new stock. I must hold the new stock until it settles, else I will be blocked for 90 days.
With T+2 settlement, can I sell the new stock on Wednesday? I have been waiting an extra day when this happens, selling on Thursday.

I'm analyzing and comparing Restoration Hardware (RH) and Williams-Sonoma (WSM). I'm trying to figure out what are some good indicators within company finances to determine if one is better than the other.
Whether it be Assets vs. Debt, operating cash flow amounts, stockholder equity amounts etc.
Trying to pinpoint specific things to highlight to help assess which company is better to invest than the other. I'm working on a report for
