What model do banks like Goldman sachs use to calculate discounts on Block Trades for clients?

For example

I know it will have to do with the volume of the stock and the size of the stake, but does anyone have knowledge of an actual model/formula used by a financial institution to price the discount on a Block Trade?

High PE tech stocks sorted with Palo Alto, SalesForce, AMD, NVDA, ServiceNow tops the list

PE ratio doesn't really tell a whole lot but it's always fun to take a quick glance. Perhaps, it is one of your first parameters when you scan to avoid/accept. Anyway, I ran a quick scan using the XLK holdings and I have attached the results via charts and also via a list for your viewing.

Are you currently holding anything in the lime green area (PE > 100)? Let me know your reasons and expectations for them going forward.

SPACEX Stock advice

I inherited 2,000 shares of SpaceX preferred stock. They had their 10-1 stock split in 2022, but it doesn’t apply to the stock if have. Some VC’s and hedge funds have offered to buyout at $770 a share. I said no. I’m young and think it’s too valuable and hard to come by.

Interested in seeing what some of you think the future of this stock price could be at a further company valuation. Over the last 4 years valuations have jumped from $33.3 billion to $14

1. Walt Disney

Shares of Walt Disney ($DIS 3.15%) are down 50% from previous highs. Everyone is familiar with the timeless brands that have made Disney a global media giant, but the stock has fallen on recent obstacles that are surmountable, and that makes the stock a screaming buy right now.

The primary reason for the weak stock performance has been weakening profitability. Disn

What do you think of the following bits of information and how they will probably/eventually relate to the stock market?

Here are some random things I have thought about recently and am curious of how we could use them to think a little differently about the market and stocks in near future differently. I know it might sound ridiculous but people thought I was crazy when COVID appeared in the USA in early 2020 that the market and stocks would slide big time. I believe we are going to have a big recession starting in the next 12 months and I absolutely think it will be akin to 2008

Help Understanding Junk Bond ETFs ($SPHY)

Like most here, I haven’t apportioned anything towards bonds. However, SPHY is showing a 6.6% dividend yield. Being an ETF, it has 1946 holdings, with its top holding only sitting at .36% of its portfolio. I understand these are not “investment grade” but isn’t the difference in yield and the safety of 2000 holdings mostly mitigate that fact?

What am I missing? (Long term investing, late 20s, 30+ years from retirement)

401K Investment Positions for 2023

Given the rough bear market of 2022, seemingly emerging bull market of 2023 and the rampant FUD calling for a major crash by EOY, I'm at a crossroads and considering reallocating my 401K funds to protect from downside. The YTD rally has been good and while I'm up on FXAIX / SPY ( 16.1%), I'm finally about break even on my growth index position ( -0.64%). Looking to see general opinions on where you think the market is moving towards on a mid term bas

When businesses acquire a new one

Sorry it's late so the wording might be odd but I own some stock in Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and they just got bought out by Darden.

In this instance will the stocks merge with Darden or will it remain its own listing? First time I've encountered this. Thanks

DPST, 193% IV

DPST, 193% IV. Good premium collecting play? Looks like I can sell the $5 Dec 13 2023 covered calls and collect $159 of premium. I'd be surprised if the banks in the etf collapse. Is the regional banking fears pumping up IV? Or could this stock fall more? Any thoughts?
