Ford announced last quarter financials

Ford just announced $1.8B net income, and revenue of $41.5B which is 20% higher than last year. These numbers can be misleading. Ford chief financial officer said Ford’s costs are $7B-$8B higher than their competitors. Ford’s CEO hinted of more layoffs in order to cut down costs. Ford shares fell 1% in aftermarket trading.

Hindenburg Research Accuses Jefferies That Managed Icahn's Offerings of Committing "Sell-Side Malpractice" to Seduce Retail Investor

Jefferies is the only Wall Street house that currently covers Icahn Enterprises LP (IEP). It was also involved in managing continuous offerings, i.e., at the money offerings (ATM), of IEP worth about $1.7 billion. Icahn and Jefferies have a long history and Icahn bailed out Jefferies (JEF) when it got into illiquid sovereign debt issues which were falling fast in value (read Hindenburg's tweets). So the two have been scratching each other's back for a wh

Will the Cash App be the savior for Block struggling quarter?

Block Inc. ($SQ), whose Cash App is among the world's top 10 payment apps, will probably report a seventh consecutive quarter of net losses as revenue growth settles at a rate below its pre-pandemic norm.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Block will likely report a first-quarter loss of -$0.18 per share vs. -$0.38 per share a year earlier.
  • Revenue is predicted to climb more than 16% to $4.6 billion.
  • Block's gross payment volume is ex
What ETFs can be used to hedge against EUR/USD exchange rate risk?

Since recently, the topic of a possible US default by june 1st is becoming popular in US media. If the debt ceiling does not get raised and the default actually happens, the value of the USD is very likely to fall immensely. As an EU citizen who invests in the US stock market, I am significantly vulnerable to the exchange rate risk. One course of action I could take is to withdraw my money from my US brokerage account and send it to my EU bank account, but that

Stock Prediction Game Idea looking for thoughts

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share an idea and get some feedback on its viability and if there are any existing alternative solutions out there.

When Reddit was fighting on the FRC debate, I really wanted to know who is credible and aggregated opinions on the price direction tomorrow.

An alternative is the option market, which can be misleading as institutions often use it for hedging.

So, here's my idea - what if there was a game t

Thoughts on Kraft Heinz (KHC)?

I was looking at them. They are very stable and I know Berkshire Hathaway was left holding the bag on a lot of their stock at $50+. But over the years, Berkshire didn't sell their KHC stock, which somewhat pricked up my interest - though it might not mean anything, since they also waited 5+ years to dump their IBM bags.

Anyway, KHC is a very...boring company. 100+ years of business, no significant growth in past 5 years, and under performed the S&amp

Help: what do I do with AMZN?

I have a lot of AMZN that was acquired prior to the downfall (at ~$150). Mistakes were made and I am still holding them.

I don’t need the money right now, but I still perceive a lot of risk in continue to hold that many stocks from 1 single company.

What is the general sentiment around AMZN stock at the moment? Is everybody on a similar boat, holding the bag in hopes it comes back up? Or have you lowered your expectations already and not expect it

How does Apple's savings account exactly work?

Since Apple is not a bank, it can't loan money from the Fed for 5%. So they have to loan it from Goldman Sachs which will cost a bit more. At the same time they are not able to recieve deposit facilities from the Fed.

Is their strategy to just reinvest it into Goldman Sachs and recieve like 3% interest rate, or what are they going to do with that money?

Why I bought and sold Meta

Back in November 2022, I wrote my analysis and valuation of Meta:

It was written, by coincidence, on the day when the share price hit the lowest point before recovering.

This post serves to archive my thoughts on my investment
