Welcome traders who just can't help them selves discuss the same exact stock that's been discussed 100s of times a day. I get it, y

Shouldn’t everyone’s number one goal be to throw in as much as possible, as soon as possible?

Beginner here, so take that into account lol.

26 and not wanting kids until I’m financially ready for them, not so much for me, but for them.

The saying of “time in the market beats time in the market” is thrown around everywhere

I just don’t see how someone can say that, then 100% of the time they’re huge supporters of a Roth IRA. The idea of investing in 25+ years from now seems silly, since time is so big. I get the tax benefits someon

QQQ vs SPY etf for 30+ years

If one has a super long term time frame in order to let their investments grow, wouldn’t it be more prudent to be more QQQ heavy in the early stages of their investment career and then shift to the more diverse SPY etf as time goes on? QQQ has outperformed spy for more than 20 years now. I understand it’s big tech heavy and that they cannot grow infinitely, which is why I wanted to open this subject to debate.

Any tips for building a portfolio

Hello, I am currently working in building a portfolio. Im not looking for stocks necessarily just for advice on how you guys chop it up. Currently I’m working on

55% etf dividend (Schwabbs for example) 25% blue chip stocks (ford, AT&T…etc) 15% crypto 5% risky stocks/ risky crypto

I barely started investing seriously. Since I just started my career and hope to put in about $1050 a month I’m 22 years old, live at home and can probably invest mor

Can an institution fail to deliver a stock on a legal short-sale? If so, does it continue to pay interest to the stock lender?

Can an institution fail to deliver (FTD) on a legal short-sale? If so, does the institution continue to pay interest (e.g. 9% apr) to a lender on the shares it borrowed to make the short sale?

My understanding is that FTDs have to do with settlement, when buying from a broker, and 100% of what I know comes from Patrick Byrne's explanation of FTDs. Will link in comments.

I know there is an MM exemption:

35 days is wildly long.

Turkey based Investors

Which brokerage firm are you using to invest in global etfs? The plan is to dca into etfs Vanguard all world, sp500 etc.

I am looking at Interactive Investors but bank fees for sending money abroad on a monthly basis cost an arm and a leg.

Is there any way that you avoid these fees? Maybe a challenger bank in Turkey?

Thank you

Recommended student subscriptions to financial media

I have 2 financial media that have inexpensive student subscriptions that I recommend for financial news: Wall Street Journal & Barrons

If you want absolutely minimal coverage of financial news and stocks, so that you have only 2 subscriptions, I recommend these two because between them you have news-centric coverage from WSJ and stock picking/stock analyst coverage from Barrons. WSJ is self-evident, so I won't discuss it here. Barrons, as some pe

Microsoft stock?

Microsoft copilot is compatible with Excel and so on. Imagine just telling your GPT-like program to do some task in excel that would normally be tedious. Suddenly your work becomes much faster, so surely you'd wanna buy the microsoft office product for your workforce. Can we expect the microsoft stock to go up with that idea?

Unrelated to the microsoft copilot, but now that microsoft has GPT4 they are probably winning the AI race. Ethics is no concer

Stock technique

I have a beef broth (or stock, I dont know what the exact differences are.) simmering away on the stove right now. It has around 2 hours to go until finished. But as of right now, its really really bland.. Like its just beef water instead of that rich taste you expect.

I used beef knuckle and some lean scraps of meat, onions, carrots, a bouquet garni of thyme, parsley and bayleaf. Browned the meat first and then covered with water and left to simmer for 6
